Ludi, a job simulation platform founded by two passionate entrepreneurs, connects college and high school students with companies through innovative job simulations. Co-founder Utku Karagülle, in an interview with Teachfloor, shared insights on how Ludi uses Teachfloor to bring immersive and meaningful experiences to students, helping them explore different career paths while also benefiting companies by showcasing their employer brand.
The Mission of Ludi
Based in Turkey, Ludi's mission is to position itself as a bridge between students and companies, providing both parties with value in a unique and practical way. Before starting Ludi, the founders ran an education company in Turkey, delivering educational content to corporate clients.
However, they noticed that traditional learning methods were less effective. This realization led them to shift focus to younger audiences, who they found were more eager to learn and ready to engage with innovative approaches
"We realized that young people need more than traditional learning methods; they crave real experiences," explains Utku Karagülle. "That's why we developed Ludi, to provide these experiences in a way that's accessible to everyone, no matter where they are."
Recognizing the potential for connecting students across Turkey with meaningful professional experiences, they developed Ludi to address this challenge through an innovative model.
Innovative Job Simulations
Ludi’s job simulations give students hands-on tasks to complete, mirroring real-life responsibilities in various roles.
For example, students might assume the role of a front-end designer, where their first task is to design a front page in Figma and submit it as a PDF or PNG. These simulations allow students to experience the day-to-day responsibilities of a job, helping them assess whether a role or company is a good fit. "It’s about giving students a shelf to see what working in a company is really like" says Karagülle.
Another example might involve an FMCG company showcasing its workplace culture. Students complete simulations that mimic real tasks while companies use these exercises to enhance their employer branding.
Some companies purely focus on employer branding, while others use these simulations to filter and assess candidates for internships or jobs. "For instance, companies might require students to complete a three- or four-hour simulation, which serves as an automatic filter to identify genuinely interested and motivated applicants" Karagülle notes.
Challenges and Why Teachfloor Was the Perfect Fit
When Ludi first started, the biggest challenge they faced was finding an intuitive platform that required no coding skills, offered a clean and simple design, and allowed for customization. "We looked at several options, including Thinkific and Teachable, but Teachfloor stood out as the simplest and most intuitive to use" says Utku Karagülle. "For someone like us, without development experience, Teachfloor was a no-brainer."
Teachfloor's integration capabilities were another key factor. As Ludi grew, they realized they needed a platform that could seamlessly connect with other tools through integrations like Zapier.
Teachfloor's constantly expanding features, including API connections, have made it possible for Ludi to grow alongside their user base, which now includes over 100,000 students and more than 25 companies.
"Teachfloor wasn't our first platform. We started with Eduflow, but after they closed, Teachfloor became the best alternative" he recalls. "Its scalability and flexibility have been instrumental in handling our growth."
Benefits of Using Teachfloor
Ludi has found Teachfloor to be a reliable partner, with uptime and customer support being standout features. "Teachfloor is handling our specific needs, even though the platform wasn't initially designed for job simulation content" Utku Karagülle notes. Despite the heavy load of serving thousands of users with job simulations, Teachfloor's infrastructure has proven robust and dependable.
"The uptime, the support, and the flexibility — these are the main reasons we stick with Teachfloor" he emphasizes. "Anytime I have a question or a request, the Teachfloor team is there to help."
Why Ludi Recommends Teachfloor
When asked why he would recommend Teachfloor to others, Utku Karagülle points out three main benefits: ease of use, excellent customer service, and scalability.
"For companies looking to launch online programs, Teachfloor is a no-brainer. It's very intuitive and easy to use" he says.
He also highlighted how Teachfloor's infrastructure automatically scales to handle growing traffic, making it an ideal choice for anyone looking to grow their online learning offerings.
Looking Ahead
Ludi's journey with Teachfloor has been marked by growth and innovation. Moving forward, they are working on building their own analytics application, using data collected from Teachfloor to better understand and serve their users. "We're always looking for ways to improve, and Teachfloor has given us the foundation we need to build on." says Utku Karagülle.
Teachfloor is proud to support Ludi in its mission to connect students with real job experiences, and we look forward to seeing how they continue to make an impact in the world of education.
